Eggs stick whether you scramble, make an omelette, or fry. You will need to soak the pan but usually soaking will quickly lift off the egg. Sometimes you have to scrub. My cast iron is easier to clean.
The description of the pots and pans say that the handles don't heat up. The lid handles do heat up! Be careful. The pot handles do get a little warm but I've been able to handle them without a mitt most of the time. Our old stainless had similar handles and they got dangerously hot.
The pots do take on an impression of some foods. I guess it's staining but sometimes I can't get them clean.
Sometimes when you cook, you need high heat. If you cannot use high heat on these pots, you lose a range of cooking possibility. For example, you can't pan sear tuna without high heat.
The large pans do not have lids and there is only one lid for the largest pot. I scramble and find that I can't cover all of my pots and pans when I'm cooking. We looked into buying additional lids but they cost nearly as much as this whole set. Looks like I'll be scouring yard sales and thrift stores for more lids.
This is not a bad set but if you do cook, you may notice these shortcomings at bad times, like in the heat of kitchen battle!
Great for everyday - dynamok - MN
Our office cook ordered these. Been using them for a few month, he's happy with them.
Very disappointed with this T-Fal set - Debra A. Coleman - Evanston Illinois
I got this set in February 2010, it is very beautiful to look at but horrible to cook with. The handles get very hot and that beauty will tarnish as soon as you cook in it. I am so disappointed with this set and realize I will have to buy another quality set before year's end.
