Viking Professional Multi-Ply 8-Piece Cookware Set Reviews By Customers

My husband and I bought each other this set for Christmas last year. I absolutely love this cookware. When recipes advise to use non-stick, I use my Viking instead. It cleans up beautifully, with the help of Bar Keeper's Friend-a non-abrasive cleaner and polisher. This is beautiful cookware that will last a lifetime. It cooks evenly, with no hot spots. I am a senior and these pans are not too heavy for me. The handles are designed to rest on your forearm giving you leverage. It is not heavier than the competition, which, I found, to be flimsy in comparison.

Viking Cookware inspires me to make new recipes because I want to use it every day.

Amason is selling this set for a lot less than I paid for it.

I received the cookware set yesterday from Amazon. The 2 quart pan is defective. There is a sharp gouge on the top rim of the pan which could cut you if you ran the side of your finger along it and there are discolored rusty looking rings (about 7 rings) along the one side on the outside of the pan. We were VERY careful when we unpacked all of the pans and also when we did the first washing recommended by the manufacturer!

I phoned Viking and they would not help me. They referred me to a distributor 2 states away and when I talked to that distributor they said they only handle parts for the Viking appliances and have nothing to do with cookware.

On the THIRD call to Viking I was told I had to deal with Amazon where I purchased the set and they were responsible for replacing the defective pan. There was nothing in the leaflet that came with the pan to say I had to contact the seller. This says a lot of bad things about the Viking lifetime guarantee! What if the seller went out of business in the future?

We have just sent that pan back to Amazon using their return label. After a couple emails plus one phone call conversation with Christian M. at Amazon customer service it appears as though they are refunding me the price of one (single) 2 quart pan I ordered the 2 quart (single) pan from Amazon.

I order a lot from Amazon and have only had to deal with their customer service twice. Both times they have been extremely helpful.
