  • Earth Pan 10-Piece Hard Anodized Cookware Set Reviews By Customers
  • After getting a new ceramic/glasstop range, we decided to replace our decades-old warped-bottom cast-aluminum pots and pans with a new set with flat bottoms as recommended by the range manufacturer. Based on the advice of a consumers' publication and the mostly-positive comments at Amazon, we purchased the Earthpan 10-piece Hard Anodized Cookware Set about two months ago. When it arrived a few days later we found we had been sent the similar Earthpan 10-pc. Stainless Steel Cookware Set. I quickly re-checked my order and discovered that I had ordered the Stainless Steel set by mistake! After sheepishly admitting my mistake to my wife, we carefully examined the set we received and decided to keep it and try it out. We are very glad we did!

The pans appear to be of very high quality, comparable to much higher priced brands which sell sell single pieces at retail for about the price of this whole set! We have cooked (meat, fish, poultry, vegetables, eggs, cereal) in them for about two months (using a small amount of butter, olive, or canola oil as appropriate) and nothing has ever stuck to the pans. The non-stick surfaces appear to be exactly as they were the day we received them. The bright shiny stainless exterior remains as beautiful as new as well. Although it does not affect the cooking capability of the set, they are quite impressive to see on top of the range. Except for the 8-qt stock pot, the entire set stores compactly in the bottom drawer of the range; we nest the pots/pans with dishtowels between them to protect the non-stick surfaces.

The well-designed and strongly attached handles stay cool enough that a potholder is not required while cooking on top of the range. One very minor problem occurred with one of the pots when a small slow-dripping leak developed at a handle rivet when the pot was quite full. After a few uses, however, this leak seems to have healed itself.

The thick-bottomed pans cook very evenly and retain heat quite well. They may take a slightly longer time to heat up compared to our previous pot/pan and cooktop combination, and we have learned to reduce the heat or turn it off a few minutes before cooking is finished. All in all, our results from cooking with these pots and pans have been excellent.

The sizes included with the the 10 piece set are quite useful, especially the 3-quart covered skillet. The glass lids are are especially handy to watch the progress of cooking; however, the handles get hot enough that a potholder may be necessary to remove them.

All in all, we are quite satisfied with this set and highly recommend them.

Great in the beginning, can't recommend now - lesley Cook -
After reading all the wonderful reviews on Amazon and having researched these pans,we decided to purchase a set here on Ebay. Like others,we were thrilled initially with the performance of the pans and like others are now disappointed big time with them. We followed the instructions as to what oils, etc to use, never put them in the dishwasher, and did not use metal utensils on them. As a matter of fact,we bought silicone spoons, spatulas, etc to specifically to use with these pans. After 3-4 months, the surface starting coming off the larger frying pan followed by two of the others. The remaining pans are OK for know, but these are the ones that we use the least,so I'm guessing they will do the same. If you read the reviews posted here, you will notice that the majority are written early on in the ownership process.I didn't notice that when I was thinking about buying them....maybe I was blinded by the overall ratings. Learn from us and find another set.

Have used these pans daily for a month now. Go for the stainless and not the hard anodized set as the anodized will stain on the outside (previous set). Follow the directions with the pans. Don't use vegetable oils. Use peanut oil, olive oil, or butter only and cook at a lower temperature than you normally would (pans heat really well and evenly). DON'T use cooking sprays. Clean up is great. Rinse the inside with fresh water to remove the bulk if not all of "stuck on" food then handwash with Dawn and a soft cloth or sponge. Never use steel wool or abrasive cleaners. Hand dry with a soft dishtowel to avoid water spots on the polished stainless steel. I thought it would go without saying but, DO NOT EVER put nonstick or polished stainless steel in the dishwasher. Dishwasher soap is mildly abrasive as is water under any pressure and will eat away at the nonstick coating and dull the stainless. I would buy the set again and would recommend it to my friends. Like you, I read a bunch of these reviews before "taking a chance" with this set. Most either really liked the set or really hated it so I didn't get much from the reviews. I hope that what I've written here has helped in your decision. By the way, Amazon has the best price on this set and best shipping.
